Kathleen Wright founded Garden of Yoga in 1983. Garden of Yoga has continued to serve the western suburbs
even as Kathleen was a founding member of Yoga Circle in Chicago and Wild Onion Yoga of Chicago.
Our first home was in the Western Springs Recreation Center (demolished and since rebuilt), we still have loyal
students from the first classes that attend classes to this day.
Today, we have a beautiful, fully equipped Yoga studio, lecture space, and a healing consultation room in LaGrange, IL.
All of our teachers are dedicated practitioners of Yoga and other healing arts.
All classes are conducted in a professional and friendly manner.
Garden of Yoga provides Yoga classes six days a week, for even the busiest schedules and Sunday Specials - 3 hour special topic workshops. We also sponsor fine teachers from out of town.
We are also "home" to Alive and Well, a fabulous resource for lecturers and practitioners in Thai Massage
Therapy, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Flower Essence Therapy and Therapeutic Yoga.
Workshops and classes with Patricia and Kathleen qualify as Continuing Education Unit credits for Yoga Alliance Teachers Registry continued education. Both Kathleen and Patricia are ERYTs (Experienced Registered Yoga Teachers) of over 500 hours.
What is Yoga
Yoga is an ancient and timeless art, science,
philosophy, and medicine that emphasizes performing one's daily responsibilities with awareness, integrity,
and compassion.
Yoga involves daily practice of Yoga
postures and breathing exercises that work the anatomical, physiological, mental intellectual, and spiritual layers
of our lives. Working through the concreteness of the body, Yoga teaches us to observe and integrate the body,
breath, and mind. You can adopt Yoga into your lifestyle.
